The Weekly Snarry Prophet is a fan-run weekly roundup of everything Snape/Harry: new fics and WIP updates, art, meta, recs, fests and whatever else the fandom gets up to, all gathered in one searchable place. It follows in the footsteps of the SS/HP Prophet newsletter from the LiveJournal and InsaneJournal days.
The Prophet does not endorse any linked material. The editors do not necessarily read, watch or see everything that is linked. The Prophet provides links, and we do not discriminate on content. Readers looking for recommendations should try one of the rec lists that regularly appear in our editions. As always, please check the creator's own tags and warnings before you click.
We don't have time to read every piece of Snape/Harry that gets written, although we would certainly like to. If you notice that a recent work has been left off the list, email us with a link and it will be added to the next edition.
- Fic
- Both one-shots and works in progress. For WIPs, we announce new chapters as they come.
- Art
- Traditional and digital art, photo manipulations, 3D renders, icons, banners and wallpapers, comics and doujinshi, fanvids and crafts.
- Meta & discussion
- Formal and informal essays about Snape and Harry, plus discussions, questions and theories, from Tumblr and Reddit to anywhere else they happen.
- Recs
- New or updated rec lists, and rec sites or collections that feature a lot of Snape/Harry.
- Fic searches
- We won't link very general searches (“looking for Snarry fics”), but we may link specific ones (“looking for a time-travel fic where Harry ends up as Snape's apprentice”).
- Fests & events
- All Snape/Harry-only fest announcements, except date-sensitive ones whose deadline passes before the next edition. Fests that only potentially include Snape/Harry won't be announced, but every actual Snape/Harry entry they produce will be linked in the right section.
- Podfic & audio
- Podfics, audio dramas and readings.
- Anything else
- If it's Snape/Harry-related, we want to know about it.
- We link to public posts and works, including AO3 works restricted to logged-in users.
- We do not link to locked or private accounts and posts, or to password-protected personal sites.
- We link to art at its original post and never repost or rehost anyone's images.
- We do not link to your work if you ask us not to. Email us and we'll remove existing links and leave your work out of future editions.
Every entry shows its rating and any AO3 Archive Warnings, exactly as tagged by the creator.
For art, we do our best to warn for common triggers such as non-con and graphic violence. If you are sensitive to these things, please take care when clicking art links. If you're not sure, the original post will have the creator's own tags and warnings.
Self-recs are encouraged! If you are an author, artist or meta writer, email us to make sure your work is included.
If you see anything you think belongs in the Prophet, please tell us. We can't see everything Snape/Harry that happens in fandom, and we want to hear about it.
